Isle of Wight A trip to the Island has a feeling of "getting away" and the slower pace of life provides the perfect setting for a relaxing visit. You are never very far from spectacular coastal scenery, varying from the chalk cliffs of the Tennyson and Culver Downs, to the unique Undercliff of the south coast, or the sleepy backwaters of the Newtown Estuary and Bembridge Harbour.
Shanklin Shanklin is noted for its famous steep-sided Chine and the Old Village with its thatched cottages and tea rooms. The town itself is a thriving centre with small shops, a theatre and railway station. The Esplanade provides traditional seaside activities but beyond Chine Inn the beach is totally unspoilt and backed by soaring cliffs. The vista of the sea can perhaps be best appreciated from the cliff-top spaces of Keats Green and Rylestone Gardens. All these are within easy walking distance of Foxhills and provide endless variation for local activities. Foxhills is also just minutes away from the Downs and the coastal footpath - ideal for walks with spectacular views.
Restaurants in Shanklin Shanklin is blessed with a variety of quality restaurants - traditional, fine dining, Indian, Chinese, Thai, Spanish and italian - all within easy walking distance from Foxhills.
For the last four years, Foxhills guest accommodation has twice been voted Best Guest Accommodation and Bed and Breakfast on the Isle of Wight in the annual Island Tourism Industry Association Awards.
